Well here is a taboo post!

I can remember when my friend Max brought the swimsuit issue to class in the 6th grade, I remember when some kid had a playboy in the school-bus in 7th grade, why are these memories still clearly inside my brain some 15 years later?…Scary! It seems to me there is this elephant in our culture, in our church, and even in our home! Yep, porn…throw it over in the corner with the other zoo animals, don't talk about it, don't preach about it, and most importantly don't admit it!

Last night I was hanging with some friends and we got on this topic about how scary it was and I know they got the point, but it seemed to me that it was dismissed to easily, Has porn become so common place in our culture a group of christian parents aren't adament about protecting their kids from it.

What if you lived in the jungle, would you protect your kids from the dangers of the jungle at all costs, or would you say that they are gonna run into it at sometime in the future.  I say both, protect your kids from it and teach them about it, so if, God forbid, they come across it they can deal with it.

A friend of mine emailed me this article, which I think is dead-on, about the myth of pornography. From a purely cultural/sociological standpoint the author, Naomi Wolf, examines porn's effect on society.

It is very scary to me to know that there are millions of adolecent boys out there with a laptop and wireless internet acces from their bedroom, it is not a question now of when, it's more like how bad…I don't have any kids, but if you do talk to them about this before they see it for themselves! That means 3rd grade!
